Hawthorne L. “Peet” Proctor
Hawthorne L. “Peet” Proctor, Major General, U.S. Army (Ret.) is a consultant for Commonwealth Consulting Corporation. He has an impressive resume of senior military positions and an established track-record of successful business consulting. In addition to his work with Commonwealth Consulting and Lehman Group, LLC, General Proctor is the President of Proctor and Boone, LLC and serves as the Senior Logistics Consultant supporting the Department of Defense business group at Intelligent Decisions, Inc.
Before entering the private sector, General Proctor served as the COO of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) at Ft. Belvoir, VA. His efforts were responsible for revolutionizing DLA’s logistics support and services to the Nation’s warfighters and peacekeepers. In recognition of his many successes and contributions to the Agency, he will be inducted into the 2006 DLA Hall of Fame.
Prior to his service at the DLA, General Proctor’s duties at the Department of Defense have included serving as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics and Operations, U.S. Army Materiel Command in Alexandria, VA and as the first commander of the Defense Supply Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His awards and decorations include: Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit (with three oak leaf clusters), Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (with three oak leaf clusters), Joint Services Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (with two oak leaf clusters), Air Assault Badge, Army General Staff Identification Badge. General Proctor was inducted as Distinguished Member of the Quartermaster Regiment in 1994.
Major General Proctor received his commission in 1968 as a distinguished military graduate from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics. He received a master’s degree in Public Administration from Central Michigan University in 1976. His military education includes the Quartermaster Basic and Advanced Courses, the Command and General Staff College (CGSC), the Army War College, and Executive Management Development Training at the University of California at Berkeley.
